In the past decade, TREES has successfully implemented over 50 training projects which gathered close to 2000 participants from the Philippines and abroad.

The training on Biodiversity Assessment and Monitoring Systems (BAMS) conducted nationwide in three clusters (Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao), produced a training manual which is still widely used today by DENR personnel.

The Ecotourism training for Taal Volcano Protected Landscape also produced a CD with audio-visual presentations which continues to serve as a reference material for the participants and other stakeholders.

In this period, TREES has generated an income of PhP40.2M — PhP22.6 from training projects, and PhP17.6M from rental of training and lodging facilities. To further enhance its capability and services,TREES made improvements to its physical facilities, including the rehabilitation of training rooms and offices, upgrade of furniture, and purchase of training and office equipment, such as computers, printers, projectors, air-conditioning units and other related materials. Moreover, the unit acquired a new vehicle.

In the time of pandemic, TREES has conducted six CPD-accredited webinars with the theme, “Upscaling Forestry Professionals, Tackling the Global Crisis.” The virtual discussions, led by subject matter experts and joined by over 2000 participants, produced numerous takeaways for the sustainable management of our forests.
