Keeping its commitment to support higher education, TREES was granted accreditation by the Philippines’ Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) as a provider of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) units in 2018.

The first line-up of courses it offered in 2020 focused on “Sustainable Management of Forests and Related Resources: Current Trends and Best Practices.” Successful participants were entitled to 15 CPD credit units for the renewal of their professional license as foresters.

When the COVID-19 pandemic enforced lockdowns in 2020, TREES managed to cope with the challenges of digital and distance learning by hosting CPD-accredited seminars online. The webinar series with the theme, “Upscaling Forestry Professionals, Tackling the Global Crisis” was conducted in six parts by professors from UPLB and professionals in the forestry sector. The series was attended by close to 2,000 licensed foresters.
